This road follows the Colorado River, starting at Highway 191 just north of Moab, Utah, and just south of the entrance to Arches National Park. It leads to the Potash salt ponds, and eventually to the Shafer Trail in Canyonlands National Park, passing under Dead Horse Point State Park on the way. The road is paved for the first 17 miles or so, and then becomes gravel and dirt, and sometimes rock. Along the way are many, many beautiful features that I have just begun to explore. My favorites are the red-maroon colored boulders with white and pale yellow strips going through them.
