Highway 128 runs parallel to the Colorado River for about 35 miles, starting at the Dewey Bridge in the East, and ending at Highway 191 just north of Moab, Utah. It is a spectacular drive with rock walls soaring hundreds of feet above you as you drive, and all manner of boulders and huge rocks that have fallen along the road. About halfway along the road there is a wide open expanse that has Fisher Towers and the multiple buttes of Castle Valley. From that expanse the La Sal mountains are clearly visible. The La Sal Mountain Loop Road starts in Caste Valley.
